Cardabilities Sketch # 54

Well I'm back with my second sketch for Cardabilities Design Team. I used Not Quite Navy as my base which is 5"x 7" card size. I used Kaisercraft collection called "Sweet Nothings" for the rest of my papers. I used 'You & Me' for the second layer and 'Silver Lining' for the third layer which I then ran it thru Stampin'Up embossing folder called 'Square Lattice'. I sponged the edges using French Blue & Orchid Pastel Fluid Chalks by Clearsnap before attaching to the second layer. I took another paper & used Stampin'Up Lace Ribbon border to create an 2 edges. Then I used light blue glitter paper and used Stampin'Up Tasteful Trim die to cut out 2 scallop edges. I laid them on top of pink ribbon border. Using blue metallic paper, I cut a strip so it lays on top of the blue scallop trim. I then cut out a circular shape using Spellbinders 'Lattice Pendants' using Pretty in Pink paper by Stampin'Up.  I found this stamp on-line bought it because I just got back from Paris /London  and I saw Paris in the springtime.Using Cupids Arrow paper, I stamped 'I Love Paris in the Springtime' by Stampendous using Blue Silk pigment ink by Clearsnap and emboss it using clear embossing powder. I colored the image using Dark Truffle Brown and Poinsettia Red Gold magicals. I cut it out leaving a little halo and popped it up using dimensional dots onto the pink pendant. I then cut out leaves from the same paper line and attached them as shown using dimensional dots. Then I used some ribbon roses by May Arts across the strip of paper.

Okay, So I didn't make it!

Well, my bad news is that I wasn't chosen to be on the Heartfelt Creations Design Team, I would like to say Thank you to everyone who was kind enough to vote for me!  So I thought I would post my creations. This is a picture of my oldest nephew Zachary who was 2 years old wearing a big cowboy hat for Halloween. He is now 13 years old and still as cute as ever. This card is a gatefold easel card using Bo Bunny's latest collection called 'Weekend Market'.

Here is the scrapbook page that is shows off Zachary wearing my mom's chaps that she had growing up. I won't tell you how old that makes my mother but you get the idea! I will hopefully teaching these projects at Scrap-a-lot in the near future closer to Father's Day! This page uses a lot of Lindy's Stamp Gang Starburst stains, Magicals Embossing Powders and fusible webbing.

So here is my first card it uses Lace Flowers background stamp (SL3175) behind the vellum and Ornamental Beauty (LL-6018) in the foreground.
I started off with a 5"x 7" finished card size using black metallic paper for the base. I then used Paris Nights (Tina Higgins) by G.C.D. Studios for the rest of my papers. The second layer was a piece of black & cream flocked paper followed by a piece of gold with brown dots. I then took a piece of paper which was black with cream color flourishes and ran it thru a Cuttlebug folder called "Brocade Window" I then used my Blackbird Fluid Chalk and  ran it over the raised areas of the folder to make the embossed areas stand out. I stamped the Lace Flowers onto black paper using white pigment ink and embossed the image using white embossing powder. I used one of the techniques from Technique Junkies. Then I colored the white embossed areas using Copic markers using the following colors; YR04, YR07, RV17, RV19, B95, B97, G99, YG06, R08, R89, BV08 and V25. I then cut out Brocade Window using vellum. Using the window I stamped the sentiment from Ornamental Beauty using white pigment ink and embossed using gold embossing powder which I placed into the window over the colored background. I then used some gold ribbon by Michael's on the corners and made a double bow. I took some white roses by I Am Roses and sprayed them using Lindy's Stamp Gang Starburst spray called "Icy Primrose Gold". I then embossed an altered blank by Vintaj using an Deco Emboss die called "Woodland Birds". I applied Tim Holtz's alcohol inks using black soot, pearl and silver.

Here is inside of the card.

Here is a look at card # 2. This time I used all 3 sets that I received for this blog hop. I used "Lace Flowers" background, "Spanish Words" background and Ornamental Beauty Rummage Bin Stamp. I started off with 5"x 6" finished card size using Concord Crush for the base. I used the collection called 'Snowy Serenade' by Bo Bunny for the rest of my papers. For the second layer I used Frost Dot paper by Bo Bunny. Then I used a technique called 'Bandana'. I used a piece of shimmery paper applied various inks such as Inky Blue, Lavender, Purple and Bermuda Blue Vivid dye inks by Clearsnap using white foam tips and stylus. Took my Lace Flowers background stamp using Black Archival ink by Ranger stamped onto my colored paper. Voila!! I didn't have a white gel pen so I used Tim Holtz distress marker 'Picket Fence' to outline some of the image. Then I stamped Spanish Words using Versamark 'Frost' onto shimmery white paper and embossed using clear embossing powder. Again I applied various inks such as Inky Blue, Lavender, Purple and Bermuda Blue Vivid dye inks by Clearsnap using white foam tips and stylus to color the white paper. I then sandwich the colored paper between to pieces of bond paper and ironed off the embossing powder. Voila! I matted this onto purple metallic paper.
I used the flower from Ornamental Beauty and again stamped using Versamark 'Frost' onto shimmery white paper and embossed using clear embossing powder. I colored this image using Lindy's Stamp Gang Magicals in the following colors; Voodoo Violet Blue and Delphinium Turquoise. I cut out a blue center using the newest Spellbinders 'Spectacular Spin' using Frost Dot paper and a larger one using purple metallic paper. I stamped the sentiment from Ornamental Beauty using white pigment ink and gold EP onto Frost Dot paper. I punch it out using Stampin'Up  largest oval and punched out purple journal  tag using EK Success punch called Journal plate & Bracket punch. Attached 2 purple Mardi Gras Candi to the tag and one blue Candi to the center of the flower!

Cardabilities- Sketch # 53

Here is my first card as a member of the Design Team for the Cardabilities - Sketch # 53. I'm so excited! Anyways here is the information on my card. I love designing cards that are usually 5"x 7" size. I started off using black metallic paper then I used Prima Printery Collection for the rest. I cut down the Negative paper by Prima to 4 3/4"x 6 3/4" and the cut down the Signature paper from the same collection to 4 1/4" x

6 1/4". I distressed the edges using Blackbird Fluid Chalk by Clearsnap. Cut Groom Specialty paper by Stampin'Up to 1" x 6" and took the eyelet border punch and punch 1 side of the paper. Attached to the Signature paper just a little off the edge. I then cut and embossed large scallop oval using White metallic paper and used the Spellbinders Classic Scallop Oval large. I cut out large tag using Silver glitter paper and Spellbinders Ornate Artisan Tags & Accents. Then I cut out the black tag again using Spellbinders Twisted Metal Tags & Accents using Groom Specialty paper. I stamped saying from the stamp set called "Special Blend" by Our Daily Bread Designs using platinum pigment ink and embossed using silver EP onto white metallic paper. I cut this out using a smaller tag die from the Spellbinders Twisted Metal Tags & Accents. Then I cut out two flourishes using silver glitter paper using  Spellbinders Twisted Metal Tags & Accents. I cut this in half and placed on card where shown. Cut out the leafy flourish from My Favorite Things Leafy Flourish die using Groom Specialty paper. Attached 3 I Am Roses as shown along with black pearls. Here is the inside of the card. I hope you enjoyed this card and don't forgot to check out the other designers as well!! I'm Back!!

If you have been wondering where my blog posts have been, I have been extremely busy getting ready for 2 blog hops that are happening on April 15th, 2012 after I got back from my holidays. I also had 2 more projects to do for the Heartfelt Creations Design Team in which I hope to make the finals.  I also had the fantastic opportunity to go with my son and his school to Paris and London. We were part of the 95th Anniversary of the battle of Vimy Ridge memorial service which was held on April 9th, 2012 at Vimy Ridge. It was a really moving experience to be part of, to see what sacrifices our Canadian soldiers did, for our freedom! We were gone for 8 days but I had to have some of my design work done before I could go. Stay tune for tomorrow as I have 2 projects to share; one for Cornish Heritage Farms and one for Cardabilities!
